Joe McCormick was born and raised in Madison County, Tennessee. He received his art training at El Camino College in Southern California, and has worked as a freelance illustrator and painter for over 40 years. Joe paints in all media and is on exhibit internationally. His work hangs in corporate boardrooms as well as in private collections. At one time, one of his prints graced a wall in the prayer room of the Presidential retreat, Camp David. Corporate clients include such names as Holiday Inns, Bendix, Porter Cable, Federal Express, The Franklin Mint and the World Wildlife Fund. His work has appeared in national publications such as Time Magazine and the Wall Street Journal.
Joe and his wife Beverly live in Pinson, Tennessee near Jackson. They have been involved for many years in Christian missions, serving three years with Wycliffe Bible Translators and are currently affiliated with International Gospel Outreach in Mobile, Alabama. The McCormicks have an ongoing involvement with a church, Christian school, mission hospital and orphanage in Honduras, and many of Joe’s paintings are of the Honduran people and landscape.
Joe’s particular love is wildlife art.
